WHO WE ARE

First and foremost, Northern Animal Rescue (NAR) is a rescue organization. We are a certified humane society, registered with the Ministry of Agriculture under the Government of Saskatchewan.  This allows us to provide rescue services (within our means) to animals within our Tri-Community (this includes La Ronge, Air Ronge and Lac La Ronge Indian Band).

Animals surrendered or picked up by our organization are dewormed and provided with primary vaccinations before being transferred to a foster home.  If an animal in our care requires immediate veterinary attention, we arrange for medical assessment and treatment before foster placement.

We rely upon a dedicated network of volunteers to help keep our organization running, especially our foster families.  Foster families allow us to socialize our animals and keep them out of the pound.  This gives our animals the chance to be loved and treated with respect, setting them up for success in their furever home.  Foster homes are just temporary!

We work with other registered humane societies, charity organizations and rescues to find placement for our animals.  Once placement has been found, we transfer our lucky guys and gals out of their foster homes and onto their new life!
